Another child arrest

Later in the day, I received a call from a good Palestinian friend who informed us that a group of Israeli soldiers were arresting a Palestinian. When we arrived near the Yellow Gate, we came across quite a scene- six heavily armed Israeli soldiers, some wearing black balaclavas.

The kind the SWAT Team wears when they break into a home to catch the leader of a mafioso gang, a person who has enough power and influence to put the lives of the officers in danger.
I looked to see who was this dangerous person, and sitting beside one of the soldiers, I noticed an eleven year old boy.

According to the soldiers, he had been throwing rocks at them for several days.
Consequently, six heavily armed military men went out on a mission to arrest him and bring him to the base, while another six went to speak to his father.
The man was brought down, and he was very upset with his son, not hiding his anger. The soldiers then produced a piece of paper, and the boy was arrested. He and the father were taken to the military base.

Whether or not the boy threw rocks at soldiers, I don't know. If he did, it is not something I support. As a person who is a pacify and opposed to all violence, I am against his action if he indeed did this.

Regardless, while an eleven year old who may or may not have thrown rocks at members of an occupying army will be spending tonight most likely in a prison cell, adult men who organized and implemented the destruction of five Palestinian homes earlier this week in Umm Al Khaeyr village will face no consequences.
Neither will Israeli Border Police or soldiers who harass Palestinians in this city on a regular basis, or soldiers who throw sound bombs and shoot rubber coated and live bullets and teargas at villagers who are demonstrating for the return of their land.

Who are the criminals here?

Six soldiers, two wearing black balaclavas, stand guard around an eleven year old Palestinian boy.

Under heavy guard.

The boy in tears after his father (leaning close and looking down at him) punished him in front of the soldiers.

The eleven year old boy is taken to the military base.

His father follows him.

Other Palestinian children gather at the gate into which one of their peers was just taken.
